That’s why I’m so excited to share that I’m officially the Boston Chapter Leader for Made for Mothers, a community created for women building businesses alongside motherhood.
And the funny thing is, six months ago, this wasn’t even on my radar.

How I Found Made for Mothers
It all started with Dubsado. Of course.
Back in March, Dubsado hosted a free training inside the Made for Mothers community. I had never heard of Made for Mothers before, but I signed up for the webinar because, well, Dubsado.
I logged on expecting to learn something about systems.
Instead, I found a community I immediately wanted to know more about.
After the webinar, I started looking through the Made for Mothers website and Instagram and learning more about what they had created.
It felt different from other business communities I’d been part of.
I’ve always believed in investing in community. I’m part of another entrepreneur community through my business coach, and some of the relationships, referrals, collaborations, and friendships that have come from it have been invaluable.
So joining the Made for Mothers Virtual Village felt like an easy decision.
What surprised me most was how quickly it felt personal.
This wasn’t a group with thousands of people where you join and disappear into the crowd. People actually knew each other. Members welcomed one another. Coffee chats happened. Real conversations started.
Within days, I was connecting with women who understood both sides of my life: the business owner and the mom.
That combination is harder to find than you might think.
What is Made for Mothers?
Made for Mothers is a community for women who are building businesses while raising their families.
Made for Mothers was founded by a woman who needed this kind of community for herself. (Isn’t that how the best ideas always start?)
After having her son, Mariah Stockman found herself trying to figure out how to be both a business owner and a mom, and realizing just how isolating that could feel.
So she created the kind of community she wished she had.
Today, Made for Mothers includes the Virtual Village, an online membership where women can connect from anywhere, along with local chapters that bring those relationships into real life.
Because as helpful as online connection can be, sometimes you need to sit across the table from someone who gets it.
A Community for Moms in Business Feels Different
There’s something different about being in a room with people who understand that your business matters deeply to you and your family does too.
They understand the daycare call that changes your entire day.
They don’t think twice about a baby making noise in the background of a Zoom call.
They know that sometimes your best work happens during nap time, after bedtime, or in whatever pockets of time you can find.
You don’t have to explain that part of your life before you can talk about your business.
It’s already understood and welcomed.
Why I Said Yes to Leading the Boston Chapter
Not long after I joined the Virtual Village, Made for Mothers announced that they were expanding their local chapters.
When Mariah learned I lived near Boston, she asked if I’d consider becoming the Boston Chapter Leader.
I didn’t immediately say yes.
I actually thought about it for a few weeks because I knew it was something I wanted to take seriously.
But the more I thought about it, the more I could see what this could become.
There are so many incredible business owners in Boston and throughout the North Shore. There are networking events, workshops, and business communities.
But I saw an opportunity to create something specifically for women who are building businesses while also building families.
A place where babies and young children are actually welcome.
A place where you can talk about business growth and childcare in the same conversation.
A place where you leave with more than a stack of business cards.
That felt worth saying yes to.
What We’re Building with Made for Mothers Boston
We’re currently finalizing the permanent venue for the Boston chapter. Once everything is in place, we’ll begin hosting monthly in-person gatherings for women entrepreneurs throughout the Boston area.
You can expect:

Because those relationships matter too.
Motherhood Changed the Way I See Community
If you’re a mom, you already know this, but becoming a mom changed the way I experience almost everything.
My priorities changed. My schedule changed. The way I think about my business changed.
Even the way I see other women changed.
After having my daughter, I remember looking around and realizing that every mom I passed had her own story. Her own version of this huge transformation. We were all looking at life through a slightly different lens now.
And when your life changes that much, sometimes the kind of community you need changes too.
That’s what I love about Made for Mothers.
There’s no expectation that you need to separate the business owner from the mom.
