Sometimes it still feels strange trying to explain what I do for work.
If I walk into a room full of wedding professionals and say I’m a Dubsado specialist, everyone immediately understands. But outside of the online business world? I still find myself trying to figure out the perfect elevator pitch.
So today, I’m sharing the full story. How I got here, why I care so much about systems, and how I accidentally built a business around helping other business owners run theirs more efficiently.

For most of my life- teaching was the plan.
I went to school in Boston at Wheelock College, earned my master’s degree, and eventually became a second grade teacher. I absolutely loved my classroom. I loved the creativity of teaching, building lesson plans, finding picture books, decorating the classroom, and connecting with students.
Then COVID happened.
Like so many other people, that season completely changed my perspective on work.
For the first time, I was working remotely. I was learning Zoom, Google Meet, and all these online tools I had never touched before. I know working remotely is not a great fit for some… but for me- I loved the flexibility.
I loved being able to work from home.
Having slower mornings.
Not spending hours commuting.
Having more ownership over my time.
And deep down, I knew I couldn’t go back.
The problem was… I had no idea what I wanted to do next.
I started searching for remote jobs and eventually stumbled across the idea of virtual assisting. To this day, I genuinely don’t remember how I found it. I think maybe Pinterest somehow led me there.
So I signed up for a virtual assistant course and started learning everything from scratch while still teaching during the day. At night, I was sitting on my couch building a website, learning contracts, figuring out client workflows, and trying to understand how online business even worked.
At the time, my husband and I were newly engaged and planning our own wedding during COVID. And that experience also opened my eyes to how disorganized client experiences could feel behind the scenes.
I remember thinking: This should not be this hard.
When I first started my business, I knew I needed a CRM system. I didn’t want to duct tape together a million different platforms and manually manage everything forever.
It came down to HoneyBook or Dubsado.
And choosing Dubsado completely changed the trajectory of my business.
I remember sitting on the couch watching tutorial videos literally feeling overwhelmed to tears trying to figure out how to build an inquiry form. Things that feel second nature to me now took me days to understand back then.
But I kept learning one piece at a time. And eventually, other business owners started noticing.
I originally started as a virtual assistant working with wedding professionals doing blogging, Pinterest, and backend support. But more and more clients kept asking me:
“Can you help me with Dubsado too?”
At first, I was figuring it out alongside them. There was a lot of trial and error. A lot of Googling. A lot of testing things and learning as I went.
But the more I worked inside Dubsado, the more I realized how much I genuinely loved systems strategy.
For a long time, my business was split into three completely different directions:
Blogging.
Pinterest.
Dubsado setups.
I quickly burned myself out trying to do all of them.
I loved my blogging clients so much, but the work was incredibly time consuming. And I noticed that every time I worked on Dubsado projects, I felt energized instead of drained.
That realization changed everything.
I attended a business retreat called the ESC Conference and had a conversation that completely shifted my business. I talked through how torn I felt trying to balance multiple services, and ultimately realized I needed to fully commit to one thing. So I chose Dubsado.
And almost immediately, my business started growing faster.
That decision taught me an important lesson: Clarity grows businesses.
In 2021, Dubsado launched their Certified Specialist program.
I knew immediately I wanted to do it. So I took the certification exam, passed, and officially became a Certified Dubsado Specialist.
Over time, I also invested heavily in copywriting, branding, and my website. Those investments completely changed the way I communicated my value online and helped position my business for the level of clients I wanted to attract.
It felt like every single piece of my journey started tying together.
Teaching taught me how to explain complicated things clearly.
Blogging taught me how to write in different brand voices.
Virtual assisting taught me how businesses actually operate behind the scenes.
Growing up around my parents’ business taught me how badly systems matter.
And all of it led me here.
At the core of everything I do, I genuinely want business owners to have more freedom.
I want you to have the flexibility to take a random afternoon off.
I want you to go to the beach with your kids on a Wednesday.
I want you to step away from your computer without your business falling apart.
That’s what good systems actually create.
Not just organization. Freedom.

Today, I exclusively offer Dubsado services for service providers who are ready to create a more streamlined, elevated client experience.
